5 months to Spain!

Every (work) day I turn over the page of my Spanish desk calender and I dutifully recite the Living Language word of the day before inserting it into an appropriate sentence... but do I really absorb the knowledge?

I admit I have been a little lazy with learning the basics; maybe in comparison to Chinese I feel as if I could at least mimic my way through a general conversation? The fact that I know I shall be taking a rather intensive language course as soon as I land in Seville is having me procrastinate more than usual.

But I have my flight details booked (Barcelona, here I come!); my golearnto.com course is set (in addition to studying Spanish, I will also be having flamenco classes in the birthplace of the art); and I have just purchased my requisite DK Spain book so I can begin to salivate over the gorgeous pictures of this historically rich and passionate country.

March is proving to be rather busy at the moment though... I'm seeing a lot of shows (check out my theatre blog at http://www.theplaysthething-jcreviews.blogspot.com/) and everyone seems to be having or planning an upcoming crazy theme party! (I have Musical Theatre, Eurovision, and Gods, Goddesses and Historical Loons events all for April! I love my creative friends)

But I'll get serious about knuckling down on at least the basic phrases soon, I've made a calender appointment to visit the small Spanish Consulate on Adelaide Terrace to start the visa process ball rolling and I'll load up my PC with a some language software soon to test my pronunciation.

That is, unless I get distracted by rehearsing a show... whoops! Guess who's part of the cast for Gilbert & Sullivan's 'Trial by Jury' at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre?
