Tapas trialling

Yes, it's been a while since I've updated this blog (you got me Bev!) but really, this site will only really start kicking it when I'm actually on my way!

A few bits of news though:

  • I found out that I don't need a visa to visit Spain! Malaysia has a recipcropal relationship and so I can visit as a tourist for 90 days without having to secure an entry "tourista" visa.I have to say it feels a little weird...I've always had to secure a visa of some kind in the past for all the countries I've visited. It's reassuring and also a little cool to have a consulate emblem posted in my passport. I guess I can look forward to the entry visa stamp I'll collect in Barcelona instead.

  • I've received an advance of my invitation postcards for the upcoming JJJ Spanish Fiesta. The front looks good, but I'm not happy with the back, so I've ordered a reprint from Vistaprint for a new batch. It's inordinately cheap at $12.89 for 100 postcards - I'm pretty much just paying for the postage as I've already formatted the invite and paid for the initial uploads. I have time (party's scheduled for the 4th of July) and I'll start handing out invites in May/ June.

  • I've been meaning to start visiting some tapas restaurants to get some foodie ideas for our party and it turns out I'm going to two this week! Amphoras in West Perth with workplace chums and Andaluz in Howard St on Saturday night with some musical theatre friends. We might head over to the Ellington Jazz Club later - which also have tapas on the menu! I guess everyone's discovered this It foodie treat - and that consequently means that it'll be on it's way out in under 6 months...!
